These filters are designed for Chlorine Taste and Odour reduction. The Chlorine should take out any Cryptosporidium & Giardia. For Cryptosporidium & Giardia removal best to go to a Filter like Alkastream with .2 Micron filtration . A Pentek CBC reduces Giardia, Cryptosporidium, Entamoeba, and Toxoplasma cysts and fine sediment particles down to 0.5 microns. E. Coli, and Salmonella can be down to range of 0.2 – 0.5 microns.
